The E-sax is an EWI made out of a real sax. It outputs MIDI signals that can be used to generate sounds using a synthesizer for instance the 10k synth. It is design to provide saxophone players a digital instrument to which they can transition easily. Additionnaly from the "standard" behavior it also have features that are allowed by a digital instrument:

V4d2 pico: common questions

What microcontroller does the V4d2 pico use?

The V4d2 pico is built around the Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the V4d2 pico PCB?

The V4d2 pico measures 54.2 × 94.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the V4d2 pico?

99 components, from 64 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the V4d2 pico design files?

From the tomcombriat/TES_e-sax repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the V4d2 pico design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its TAPR-OHL-1.0 license, which tomcombriat chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the V4d2 pico without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
