About the Feuchtraumabzweigdose PCB

Feuchtraumabzweigdose is an open source ESP32 PCB design by transportkollektiv, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-4.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 45.7 × 63.5 mm, with 35 components from 25 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-WROOM-32, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the RFM95W-868S2, LF50_TO220, MCP73832-2-OT, TLV75733PDBV and TS881xLx. By type, the board carries 11 resistors, 6 ICs, 5 connectors, 5 capacitors, 3 diodes and 1 transistor.

It belongs with the rf & radio, iot & wireless and power & battery designs in this gallery.

From the project

A custom GPS Tracker with LoRaWAN/TTN intended for use on a bicycle

This PCB is meant to function as an experimental playground for the OpenBike project. It integrates WiFi and Bluetooth via the ESP32 MCU and LoRaWAN through the ubiquitous RFM95W modem. It also has a dedicated header for a gyro module as well as a switchable power supply for GNSS/GPS modules that can be switched off for deep sleep. It exposes a shared SPI bus, two serial lines and all unused pins of the ESP32, with several RTC interrupt methods available in hardware. A dedicated dynamo-to-Li+ charger as well as an efficient 3.3V LDO to supply the logic can be populated optionally.

Feuchtraumabzweigdose: common questions

What microcontroller does the Feuchtraumabzweigdose use?

The Feuchtraumabzweigdose is built around the ESP32-WROOM-32, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Feuchtraumabzweigdose PCB?

The Feuchtraumabzweigdose measures 45.7 × 63.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Feuchtraumabzweigdose?

35 components, from 25 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Feuchtraumabzweigdose design files?

From the transportkollektiv/feuchtraumabzweigdose repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Feuchtraumabzweigdose design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CC-BY-4.0 license, which transportkollektiv chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Feuchtraumabzweigdose without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
