About the DaNumPad unWired PCB

DaNumPad unWired is an open source Nordic nRF PCB design by TweetyDaBird, published on GitHub under the Custom license license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 100 × 95.3 mm, with 87 components from 30 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the nRF52840_holyiot_18010, from the Nordic nRF family. Other key parts include the SRV05-4, TP4056 and XC6206PxxxMR-Regulator_Linear. By type, the board carries 26 switches, 20 diodes, 12 capacitors, 9 resistors, 4 ICs and 3 connectors.

It belongs with the keyboards, iot & wireless and power & battery designs in this gallery.

From the project

A Numpad

- USB-C connector - Cherry MX compatible switches - Kailh Hotswap sockets - Supports PCB-mounted Cherry style stabilizers - Designed as a companion to most 60% keyboards, being the same 5 row 'height'. - Sandwich case with top and bottom plate from FR4 material. - Full SMD design, adapted to easily allow both SMT manufacturing and handsoldering.

DaNumPad unWired: common questions

What microcontroller does the DaNumPad unWired use?

The DaNumPad unWired is built around the nRF52840_holyiot_18010, from the Nordic nRF family.

How big is the DaNumPad unWired PCB?

The DaNumPad unWired measures 100 × 95.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the DaNumPad unWired?

87 components, from 30 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the DaNumPad unWired design files?

From the TweetyDaBird/DaNumPad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the DaNumPad unWired design in my own project?

It is published under Custom license, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.

Can I test firmware for the DaNumPad unWired without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Nordic nRF firmware against it before you order a PCB.
