About the Rotini-Hardware PCB

Rotini-Hardware is an open source ESP32 PCB design by AlfredoSystems, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 47 Γ— 21.6 mm, with 105 components from 55 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-S3FN8, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the MMC5983MA, CRYSTAL_ESP32, W25Q128JVS, USBLC6-2P6 and SY8201CABC. By type, the board carries 37 capacitors, 31 resistors, 12 ICs, 9 diodes, 6 test points and 4 transistors.

It belongs with the rf & radio and iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

Rotini can be entirely manufactured and assembled by JLCPCB! They will need the gerber, BOM, and pick-and-place files found in this repo. The one caveat is JLC does not have a 400g accelerometer in their library. You will need to order H3LIS331DL via JLCPCBs global part sourcing system well before ordering your boards.

Rotini-Hardware: common questions

What microcontroller does the Rotini-Hardware use?

The Rotini-Hardware is built around the ESP32-S3FN8, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Rotini-Hardware PCB?

The Rotini-Hardware measures 47 Γ— 21.6 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 4.69 mm thick.

How many components are on the Rotini-Hardware?

105 components, from 55 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Rotini-Hardware design files?

From the AlfredoSystems/Rotini-Hardware repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Rotini-Hardware design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which AlfredoSystems chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Rotini-Hardware without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
