This folder contains the files for the PCB implementation in KiCAD.

It contains the individual schematics for each section of the PCB (microcontroller, IMU, haptics, battery charging) and the design rules imported from the JLCPCB website. In addition it contains any addition symbols and footprints used that are not in the standard KiCAD library.

Double-Sports: common questions

What microcontroller does the Double-Sports use?

The Double-Sports is built around the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Double-Sports PCB?

The Double-Sports measures 38 × 55 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.582 mm thick.

How many components are on the Double-Sports?

47 components, from 24 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Double-Sports design files?

From the Ameister621/Double-Sports repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Double-Sports design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Ameister621. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Double-Sports without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
