V3S CAN-bus control panel - KiCad hardware

KiCad project for the CAN-bus control panel board built around the Allwinner V3S (LicheePi Zero), part of the CANbusSensors family of MPCC/MPSWP sensor-node projects. Two assembly variants on one PCB: a handheld CAN-bus terminal and a VoIP endpoint. The next hardware iteration (Allwinner T113-S3/4) will be a separate repo.

- Schematic and PCB layout done (4-layer, 120 × 75 mm), production files generated. - Design review completed; DRC/ERC clean (remaining items reviewed and excluded as by-design). - Hand assembly (2 fiducials on F.Cu for stencil alignment); crystal load caps C3/C4 are…

The KiCad project lives in the bartkepl/ControlPanelV3S repository on GitHub; these links point at the commit this page was built from.

ControlPanelV3S: common questions

What microcontroller does the ControlPanelV3S use?

The ControlPanelV3S is built around the STM32L432KCUx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the ControlPanelV3S PCB?

The ControlPanelV3S measures 120 × 75 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.5862 mm thick.

How many components are on the ControlPanelV3S?

300 components, from 105 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the ControlPanelV3S design files?

From the bartkepl/ControlPanelV3S repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the ControlPanelV3S design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which bartkepl chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the ControlPanelV3S without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
