About the NOGUSB PCB

NOGUSB is an open source STM32 PCB design by berkeleyauv, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 30.5 × 25 mm, with 34 components from 22 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32G0B1KxTxN, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the MAX77596ETBB+ and TCAN330G. By type, the board carries 12 capacitors, 9 resistors, 4 connectors, 4 switches, 3 ICs and 1 diode.

It belongs with the robotics & motion designs in this gallery.

From the project

PCB designs for Underwater Robotics at Berkeley (UR@B)

Board for testing various capabilities of the STM32G0B1 including USB-C PD, USB, bootloaders, and FDCAN. Intended as potential replacement for NOGLINK.

If using the bootloader to program, make sure to unset the nBOOT_SEL before first flash or you will lose access to the bootloader.

- Added connections for DBCC pins, fixing no power on startup - Rerouted UART pins to a different pair

NOGUSB: common questions

What microcontroller does the NOGUSB use?

The NOGUSB is built around the STM32G0B1KxTxN, from the STM32 family.

How big is the NOGUSB PCB?

The NOGUSB measures 30.5 × 25 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the NOGUSB?

34 components, from 22 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the NOGUSB design files?

From the berkeleyauv/RoboSub_HW repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the NOGUSB design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which berkeleyauv chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the NOGUSB without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
