About the NOGPROG PCB

NOGPROG is an open source STM32 PCB design by berkeleyauv, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 33 × 13 mm, with 33 components from 17 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F103CBTx, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the MIC5365-3.3YC5. By type, the board carries 13 resistors, 10 capacitors, 3 connectors, 2 ICs, 2 diodes and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the robotics & motion designs in this gallery.

From the project

PCB designs for Underwater Robotics at Berkeley (UR@B)

NOGPROG is a STM32F103CBT6 based DAPLink probe. As a CMSIS-DAP based debugger, it should work with any ARM microcontroller.

Follow the Developers Guide for DAPLink (develop branch for GCC) and compile both the stm32f103xbbl and stm32f103xbif projects. Upload the bootloader stm32f103xbbl.bin first (using another debugger) and then NOGPROG should re-enumerate as a MAINTENANCE drive. Drag stm32f103xbif.bin into that to install DAPLink.

NOGPROG: common questions

What microcontroller does the NOGPROG use?

The NOGPROG is built around the STM32F103CBTx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the NOGPROG PCB?

The NOGPROG measures 33 × 13 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the NOGPROG?

33 components, from 17 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the NOGPROG design files?

From the berkeleyauv/RoboSub_HW repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the NOGPROG design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which berkeleyauv chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the NOGPROG without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
