Sharp MZ-80K Replica Public

A simple implementation of Maxduino for the MZ-80K and now MZ-700 with buttons and OLED screen.

This needs Maxduino compiling for the ATMEGA328P. The chip can be programmed with a Minipro with the following settings.

MZ80MAX: common questions

What microcontroller does the MZ80MAX use?

The MZ80MAX is built around the ATMEGA328, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the MZ80MAX PCB?

The MZ80MAX measures 100 × 55 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the MZ80MAX?

22 components, from 21 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the MZ80MAX design files?

From the Board-Folk/Sharp-MZ-80K repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the MZ80MAX design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Board-Folk. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the MZ80MAX without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
