About the Rifle and sensors PCB

Rifle and sensors is an open source STM32 PCB design by DAlexis, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 93.9 × 97.8 mm, with 80 components from 48 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F030F4Px, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the NCP551, RGB and PAM8403. By type, the board carries 26 resistors, 20 connectors, 18 capacitors, 7 transistors, 5 ICs and 2 diodes.

It belongs with the iot & wireless and sensors designs in this gallery.

You need to install cmake, arm-none-eabi-gcc compiler with arm-none-eabi-newlib and arm-none-eabi-binutils installed, and installation dirs should be in $PATH. Simply installation from your distro's repository usually enough. To flash the MCU with ST-link programmer you should install stlink utility. Then:

The KiCad project lives in the DAlexis/caustic-lasertag-system repository on GitHub; these links point at the commit this page was built from.

Rifle and sensors: common questions

What microcontroller does the Rifle and sensors use?

The Rifle and sensors is built around the STM32F030F4Px, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Rifle and sensors PCB?

The Rifle and sensors measures 93.9 × 97.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Rifle and sensors?

80 components, from 48 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Rifle and sensors design files?

From the DAlexis/caustic-lasertag-system repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Rifle and sensors design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which DAlexis chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Rifle and sensors without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
