About the Drishtikon PCB

Drishtikon is an open source ESP32 PCB design by Debanx3, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 58.5 × 38.8 mm, with 50 components from 29 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the OPT3001DNPRQ1, D3V3XA4B10LP, TLV75801PDBV and MLX90640ESF-BAA-000-TU. By type, the board carries 14 capacitors, 12 resistors, 7 connectors, 5 diodes, 4 ICs and 2 switches.

It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

From the project

EdgeAI based human detection system for automated control of resistive and inductive loads at workspaces

+ The beginnings: Drishtikon is a framework consisting of two modules, the mainboard and the controller modules that can be powered directly from the 220VAC mains in dorms, libraries and canteens. The two boards communicate with each other using a BLE protocol and the mainboard is connected to the internet via Wi-Fi, it connects to the local network using hard coding.

Drishtikon: common questions

What microcontroller does the Drishtikon use?

The Drishtikon is built around the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Drishtikon PCB?

The Drishtikon measures 58.5 × 38.8 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Drishtikon?

50 components, from 29 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Drishtikon design files?

From the Debanx3/Drishtikon repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Drishtikon design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which Debanx3 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Drishtikon without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
