From the project

Notice that we use the latest nightly KiCad builds.

Notice that we use the latest nightly KiCad builds.

1. R54 removed. R24 and R16 moved further away from the button. 2. Improved EN signal - added C5(1uF/0603) on pin #3 of ESP32. R24 now 10k.

1. GPIO6-11, which are used by the ESP32's internal flash, were disconnected from CON1 and the 6 SD card signals are now routed instead for use when SD card is not present; 2. SD card changed from 4-bit mode of operation to 1-bit mode of operation! Added 3 NA resistor pads (R9-R11) for backwards compatiblity. 3. A lot of deep sleep mode improvements to lower the consumption to 100uA or less:

ESP32-GATEWAY Rev G: common questions

What microcontroller does the ESP32-GATEWAY Rev G use?

The ESP32-GATEWAY Rev G is built around the ESP32-WROOM-32D-4MB, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the ESP32-GATEWAY Rev G PCB?

The ESP32-GATEWAY Rev G measures 50.8 × 62.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the ESP32-GATEWAY Rev G?

89 components, from 47 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the ESP32-GATEWAY Rev G design files?

From the guydmi/mocap_project repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the ESP32-GATEWAY Rev G design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with guydmi. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the ESP32-GATEWAY Rev G without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
