From the project

A YSWS for the northern hemisphere's summer and the aussie's winter. Run by @pmnlla, with love and loads of carrots.

a 400W+ capable usb charging hub that takes in 22-36V DC input. equipped with a rp2040 and smart usb pd controllers, they can be much more capable than just 400W, and could really slurps power.

pcb is well made with amble trace width to prevent heating up from high current nets. compact layout of parts also let it be able to stay under 100x100mm pcb size.

- 4 usb c ports capable of 5A output - 4 usb a ports capable of 3A output - support for legacy charging protocols for all ports - neopixels per port to indicate status - mounting holes to... mount the pcb

Usb charging hub: common questions

What microcontroller does the Usb charging hub use?

The Usb charging hub is built around the AP2112K-3.3, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Usb charging hub PCB?

The Usb charging hub measures 80 × 95 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Usb charging hub?

206 components, from 73 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Usb charging hub design files?

From the hackclub/reflow repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Usb charging hub design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with hackclub. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Usb charging hub without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
