From the project

Make the worlds strongest Node

The goal is to turn this indestructible icon into a rugged, long-range mesh networking node that runs Meshtastic and MeshCore.

Next steps: order the first prototypes, tune the RF matching networks and start firmware bring-up.

- Hardware engineering: review the schematic and layout, and help with RF tuning. - Firmware development: port Meshtastic/MeshCore to the legacy LCD and keypad matrix. - Mechanical design: check the fit in original and replacement shells, and design internal 3D-printed parts.

The-Mesh3310-Project: common questions

What microcontroller does the The-Mesh3310-Project use?

The The-Mesh3310-Project is built around the nRF9151-LAXX, from the Nordic nRF family.

How big is the The-Mesh3310-Project PCB?

The The-Mesh3310-Project measures 41.4 × 108 mm, has 6 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the The-Mesh3310-Project?

165 components, from 93 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the The-Mesh3310-Project design files?

From the JDJelectronics/The-Mesh3310-Project repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the The-Mesh3310-Project design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which JDJelectronics chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the The-Mesh3310-Project without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Nordic nRF firmware against it before you order a PCB.
