About the FineMotion-5 PCB

FineMotion-5 is an open source ESP8266 PCB design by Kamilake, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 49.3 × 19.7 mm, with 40 components from 24 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP-12F, from the ESP8266 family. Other key parts include the ME6211C, TP4056, CH340C and MPU-9250. By type, the board carries 15 resistors, 11 capacitors, 5 ICs, 3 connectors, 2 switches and 2 test points.

It belongs with the power & battery designs in this gallery.

Due to JLCPCB's new assembly policy, soldering on the bottom side or using a non-black PCB will incur additional charges. Bottom side soldering is not possible if the "Economic" assembly option is selected. As the bottom side soldering is only for the connector, manual assembly is recommended. But.. if you ordering more than 31 boards, it is more economical to choose the Standard assembly option with panelization. FineMotion-5: common questions

What microcontroller does the FineMotion-5 use?

The FineMotion-5 is built around the ESP-12F, from the ESP8266 family.

How big is the FineMotion-5 PCB?

The FineMotion-5 measures 49.3 × 19.7 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.2 mm thick.

How many components are on the FineMotion-5?

40 components, from 24 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the FineMotion-5 design files?

From the Kamilake/FineMotion-Tracker repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the FineMotion-5 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license, which Kamilake chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the FineMotion-5 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP8266 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
