About the CoreLight PCB

CoreLight is an open source PCB design by llextv, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 170.7 × 119 mm, with 192 components from 55 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the IS42S16400J-xC, W25Q128JVS, NUCLEO144-H743ZI, W5500 and MAX3485. By type, the board carries 67 capacitors, 38 resistors, 26 ICs, 23 diodes, 21 connectors and 7 switches.

From the project

CoreLight is an open-source DIY lighting controller built around an STM32H743.

CoreLight is an open-source DIY lighting controller built around an STM32H743.

The project is designed to manage stage lighting systems with up to 13 DMX universes, Ethernet protocols such as Art-Net and sACN, timecode synchronization, show playback and system monitoring.

The goal is not to recreate a grandMA3 console. CoreLight is intended to be a hardware platform for a future open-source lighting-control system.

CoreLight: common questions

How big is the CoreLight PCB?

The CoreLight measures 170.7 × 119 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the CoreLight?

192 components, from 55 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the CoreLight design files?

From the llextv/coreLight repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the CoreLight design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with llextv. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
