About the RC203-68000 PIO 1 PCB

RC203-68000 PIO 1 is an open source PCB design by MarkD833, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-NC-4.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 101.6 × 53.3 mm, with 24 components from 12 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the MC68230, 74LS138 and 74LS688. By type, the board carries 14 connectors, 4 ICs, 4 capacitors and 2 resistors.

It belongs with the retro computing designs in this gallery.

From the project

My Motorola 68000 & 68302 processors (+ SIO, PIO & MFP boards) for the RCBus ecosystem.

The base address of each PI/T is determined by the placement of a jumper between adjacent pins on J7 & J12 (PI/T A) and J7 & J13 (PI/T B).

NOTE A PI/T must have a clock present - either from the main clock source (RCBus pin 21) or the alternate CLOCK2 source (RCBus pin 61) - in order to function. The clock source for PI/T #1 is determined by the jumper position on J2 and the clock source for PI/T #2 is determined by the jumper position on J6.
