About the RC201-68000 CPU 2 PCB

RC201-68000 CPU 2 is an open source PCB design by MarkD833, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-NC-4.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 101.6 × 53.3 mm, with 37 components from 19 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the 74LS04, 74LS148, 74LS20, 74LS139 and 74LS175. By type, the board carries 11 capacitors, 9 ICs, 7 connectors, 5 diodes, 4 resistors and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the retro computing designs in this gallery.

From the project

My Motorola 68000 & 68302 processors (+ SIO, PIO & MFP boards) for the RCBus ecosystem.

Actual image of the processor board under test with IRQ2, IRQ5 and IRQ6 configured for autovectored interrupts and IRQ3 for vectored interrupts.

The processor board is designed to plug into an RCBus-80 backplane and expects to find the stack pointer and initial program counter addresses at location 0x000000 onwards.

There's also a jumper (J4) to allow the processor E clock to be routed onto the RCBus CLOCK2 pin (61) if required. However, note that the CLOCK2 pin may also be used by other boards such as the RC202 serial board (to share its 3.6864MHz UART clock). If this feature is used, then…
