About the RC202-68000 SIO 1 PCB

RC202-68000 SIO 1 is an open source PCB design by MarkD833, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-NC-4.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 101.6 × 53.3 mm, with 40 components from 20 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the 74LS138, SCC68692C1A44, 74LS125, 74LS688 and 24LC128. By type, the board carries 16 connectors, 7 jumpers, 7 capacitors, 5 ICs, 2 crystals and 2 resistors.

It belongs with the retro computing designs in this gallery.

From the project

My Motorola 68000 & 68302 processors (+ SIO, PIO & MFP boards) for the RCBus ecosystem.

The SCC68692 DUART is compatible with MC68681 but supports up to 115200 baud via a test mode. The test mode is documented in the Philips Semiconductors document titled "Extended baud rates for SCN2681, SCN68681, SCC2691, SCC2692, SCC68681 and SCC2698B". I've put a PDF of this document in the board folder.

The 2 serial ports are each fed to a 6-pin connector at the board edge. The layout of the 6 pins is compatible with an FTDI USB-TTL Serial interface board.
