From the project

Raspberry Pi control HAT dedicated to the quadruped robot Chromapi.

This repo contains a dedicated control HAT designed to manage the high-speed motion, power distribution, and sensor integration required for the quadruped robot Chromapi.

🧠 The Brain**: The STM32G431KBT6 MCU handles real-time tasks: servo control, IMU fusion, and power monitoring. The Raspberry Pi runs high-level control, vision, and the Python SDK. They communicate through a custom UART bridge at 1 Mbps.

Chromapi motherboard: common questions

What microcontroller does the Chromapi motherboard use?

The Chromapi motherboard is built around the STM32G431KBT6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Chromapi motherboard PCB?

The Chromapi motherboard measures 88.1 × 59.4 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Chromapi motherboard?

105 components, from 49 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Chromapi motherboard design files?

From the Mowibox/chromapi_motherboard repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Chromapi motherboard design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its Apache-2.0 license, which Mowibox chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Chromapi motherboard without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
