About the Survive PCB

Survive is an open source ESP32 PCB design by PrinceYadav78, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 54.7 × 23 mm, with 72 components from 35 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-S3FN8, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the HSFPAR004A, AO3401A, TMP1075DSG, SMD3225 and HX711. By type, the board carries 28 resistors, 22 capacitors, 8 ICs, 5 switches, 4 connectors and 3 diodes.

It belongs with the rf & radio designs in this gallery.

Survival board with GPS

so this is my plasma speaker project which i made for my college physics project. basically designed the full circuit and pcb myself from scratch, took around 6 days total. hope it comes out good when i actually build it lol

honestly it started just as a college physics submission but then i got genuinely interested in how it actually works. plasma speakers are cool because theres no physical cone or membrane, sound comes directly from ionised air through a high voltage arc. felt way more interesting than doing some boring experiment so i decided to design the full electronics myself instead…

Survive: common questions

What microcontroller does the Survive use?

The Survive is built around the ESP32-S3FN8, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Survive PCB?

The Survive measures 54.7 × 23 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Survive?

72 components, from 35 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Survive design files?

From the PrinceYadav78/Survive repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Survive design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which PrinceYadav78 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Survive without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
