About the YAPSCO-10V PCB

YAPSCO-10V is an open source PIC PCB design by simonjoh, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 82.8 × 73.2 mm, with 72 components from 41 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the dsPIC30F4012, from the PIC family. Other key parts include the 7805, 6N137, LM358, 74HC14 and LM339D. By type, the board carries 29 resistors, 12 capacitors, 10 ICs, 9 connectors, 5 diodes and 2 relays.

From the project

Modification of the YAPSC:10V with onboard -12V supply

The board has the same outer dimensions and mounting hole positions as YAPSC:10V, so a drop-in replacement should be quite easy.

Some PCB footprints have been replaced with surface mounted versions to be able to squash in the -12V supply while keeping the board outline and mounting holes the same as YAPSC:10V.

The DB15 connector footprint has also been added to the PCB layout so that it can easily be soldered onto the board if needed.

YAPSCO-10V: common questions

What microcontroller does the YAPSCO-10V use?

The YAPSCO-10V is built around the dsPIC30F4012, from the PIC family.

How big is the YAPSCO-10V PCB?

The YAPSCO-10V measures 82.8 × 73.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the YAPSCO-10V?

72 components, from 41 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the YAPSCO-10V design files?

From the simonjoh/YAPSCO-10V repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the YAPSCO-10V design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which simonjoh chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the YAPSCO-10V without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug PIC firmware against it before you order a PCB.
