Hardware files for the Smoothieboard v2, and extension boards

Extension-board hardware includes independent Ccecil repositories pinned as Git submodules and legacy board designs copied from this repository's master:extensions tree, all under extension-boards/. Clone with --recurse-submodules to initialize the Ccecil boards, or initialize them in an existing clone with git submodule update --init --recursive. The legacy designs are ordinary tracked folders; their source revisions and folder mappings are documented in extension-boards/README.md.

Smoothiev2-prime: common questions

What microcontroller does the Smoothiev2-prime use?

The Smoothiev2-prime is built around the STM32H745XIHx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Smoothiev2-prime PCB?

The Smoothiev2-prime measures 110 × 110 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Smoothiev2-prime?

409 components, from 84 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Smoothiev2-prime design files?

From the Smoothieware/Smoothieboard2 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Smoothiev2-prime design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Smoothieware. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Smoothiev2-prime without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
