About the Raii PCB

Raii is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by unspecworks, published on GitHub under the SHL-2.1 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 236.9 × 86.9 mm, with 208 components from 24 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the XC6206PXXXMR, SRV05-4, W25Q128JVS, SN74LVC1T45DRL and INA138. By type, the board carries 76 capacitors, 38 switches, 34 LEDs, 28 resistors, 12 ICs and 10 diodes.

If you plan to solder the hotswap sockets yourself, orient the socket so that the rectangular portion faces the center of the switch (the switch center hole). This orientation is recommended for proper case compatibility.

Raii: common questions

What microcontroller does the Raii use?

The Raii is built around the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Raii PCB?

The Raii measures 236.9 × 86.9 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Raii?

208 components, from 24 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Raii design files?

From the unspecworks/raii repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Raii design in my own project?

It is published under SHL-2.1, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.

Can I test firmware for the Raii without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
