About the ReflowOvenController PCB

ReflowOvenController is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by wangyeee, published on GitHub under the BSD-3-Clause license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 100 × 100 mm, with 97 components from 52 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATMEGA328P-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the TXS0108E, AT24CS512, MP1470, LM1117-3.3 and MOC3020M. By type, the board carries 29 capacitors, 26 resistors, 11 diodes, 10 ICs, 9 connectors and 6 test points.

It belongs with the robotics & motion and rf & radio designs in this gallery.

From the project

Collections of hardware design related to my drone project.

Warning: Lethal mains voltage is connected to the PCB, extreme care must be taken for the whole time. Seek help from professional technicians whenever possible.

I decide to design my own board mainly because the solid state relay used in the original project is obsolete. In order to avoid this, I use a triac and an optocoupler to build a solid state relay. It's much easier to find alternatives for discrete components than integrate ones.

ReflowOvenController: common questions

What microcontroller does the ReflowOvenController use?

The ReflowOvenController is built around the ATMEGA328P-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the ReflowOvenController PCB?

The ReflowOvenController measures 100 × 100 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the ReflowOvenController?

97 components, from 52 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the ReflowOvenController design files?

From the wangyeee/OpenHardware repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the ReflowOvenController design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its BSD-3-Clause license, which wangyeee chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the ReflowOvenController without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
