About the IDM-FakeSensor-ESP PCB

IDM-FakeSensor-ESP is an open source ESP32 PCB design by Xerolux, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 64 × 42 mm, with 7 components from 7 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-C3-MINI-1, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the 24V_TO_5V, MCP4725, OPA197_GAIN and AD5242BRUZ10. By type, the board carries 5 ICs, 1 connector and 1 diode.

It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

From the project

- simulierte relative Feuchte - simulierte Raumtemperatur

Damit können Mittelwerte, Maximalwerte oder der ungünstigste Raum an die Wärmepumpe weitergegeben werden. Für die Kühlung sollte eher der kritischste Raum verwendet werden als ein Durchschnitt.

IDM-FakeSensor-ESP: common questions

What microcontroller does the IDM-FakeSensor-ESP use?

The IDM-FakeSensor-ESP is built around the ESP32-C3-MINI-1, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the IDM-FakeSensor-ESP PCB?

The IDM-FakeSensor-ESP measures 64 × 42 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the IDM-FakeSensor-ESP?

7 components, from 7 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the IDM-FakeSensor-ESP design files?

From the Xerolux/IDM-Smart-Climate-Platform repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the IDM-FakeSensor-ESP design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which Xerolux chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the IDM-FakeSensor-ESP without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
