About the IDM-FakeSensor-ESP-B-ES1 PCB

IDM-FakeSensor-ESP-B-ES1 is an open source ESP32 PCB design by Xerolux, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 145 × 78 mm, with 18 components from 15 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-C3-DevKitM-1, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the TSR 1-2450, MCP4725A0T-E/CH and OPA197IDBVR. By type, the board carries 6 capacitors, 5 resistors, 3 ICs, 1 module, 1 connector and 1 fuse.

It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

From the project

- simulierte relative Feuchte - simulierte Raumtemperatur

Damit können Mittelwerte, Maximalwerte oder der ungünstigste Raum an die Wärmepumpe weitergegeben werden. Für die Kühlung sollte eher der kritischste Raum verwendet werden als ein Durchschnitt.

IDM-FakeSensor-ESP-B-ES1: common questions

What microcontroller does the IDM-FakeSensor-ESP-B-ES1 use?

The IDM-FakeSensor-ESP-B-ES1 is built around the ESP32-C3-DevKitM-1, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the IDM-FakeSensor-ESP-B-ES1 PCB?

The IDM-FakeSensor-ESP-B-ES1 measures 145 × 78 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the IDM-FakeSensor-ESP-B-ES1?

18 components, from 15 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the IDM-FakeSensor-ESP-B-ES1 design files?

From the Xerolux/IDM-Smart-Climate-Platform repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the IDM-FakeSensor-ESP-B-ES1 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which Xerolux chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the IDM-FakeSensor-ESP-B-ES1 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
