ESP32-based multi-sensor PCB with temperature/humidity, light, and microphone sensors — 4 layer Board — KiCad design based on Tech Explorations tutorial

My most complex PCB design to date — an ESP32-C3 based multi-sensor IoT board featuring three sensors across a hierarchical, multi-sheet schematic. Designed over multiple days following the Tech Explorations tutorial series. This was my first experience with both 4-layer PCB stackup design and microphone amplifier circuit design.

A dedicated ground plane on Layer 2 ensures low-impedance returns for all sensors and clean power distribution — critical for analog microphone signal integrity.

ESP32-Multi-Sensor: common questions

What microcontroller does the ESP32-Multi-Sensor use?

The ESP32-Multi-Sensor is built around the ESP32-C3-WROOM-02-H4, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the ESP32-Multi-Sensor PCB?

The ESP32-Multi-Sensor measures 90.1 × 54.7 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the ESP32-Multi-Sensor?

78 components, from 38 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the ESP32-Multi-Sensor design files?

From the ashfaque-ur-rahman/ESP32-Multi-Sensor-PCB repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the ESP32-Multi-Sensor design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with ashfaque-ur-rahman. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the ESP32-Multi-Sensor without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
