About the RP2040-Guide PCB

RP2040-Guide is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by BennetLeff, published on GitHub under the Custom license license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 45.2 × 93.4 mm, with 31 components from 14 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the W25Q128JVS, USBLC6-2SC6 and XC6206PxxxMR-Regulator_Linear. By type, the board carries 17 capacitors, 7 resistors, 4 ICs, 1 crystal, 1 connector and 1 fuse.

a breville control freak ++

Temper is a consumer induction cooker built around three pillars: an ESP32-S3 firmware with an 8-state transition-table machine handling real-time power control and hardware-latched protection circuits; a KiCad PCB design optimized through a custom CP-SAT-based signal-integrity and thermal-aware placer pipeline; and a Python/Rust placer toolchain (CP-SAT solver, geometry/DRC/DSN/IPC crates, workflow DAG) that automates layout and checks placement against IPC standards. Protection — over-current, over-voltage, thermal shutdown, UVLO — is designed to be hardware-latched with firmware monitoring.

RP2040-Guide: common questions

What microcontroller does the RP2040-Guide use?

The RP2040-Guide is built around the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the RP2040-Guide PCB?

The RP2040-Guide measures 45.2 × 93.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the RP2040-Guide?

31 components, from 14 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the RP2040-Guide design files?

From the BennetLeff/temper repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the RP2040-Guide design in my own project?

It is published under Custom license, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.

Can I test firmware for the RP2040-Guide without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
