About the CPCROM PCB

CPCROM is an open source PCB design by Bread80, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 99.1 × 66 mm, with 31 components from 15 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the SST39SF040, 74LS374, 74LS32, 74LS02 and 74LS08. By type, the board carries 12 resistors, 7 ICs, 6 capacitors, 4 diodes and 1 jumper.

It belongs with the retro computing designs in this gallery.

Modular Amstrad CPC Compatible Computer (WiP)

***This project is an unfinished work in progress. It currently has bugs and not all the features have been tested!

The current modules are designed to fit a slightly modified RC2014 Pro backplane. In the text below I shall explain the current status of the project, workarounds needed to get it running and basic build details. Due to the work in progress status of the project this document will be intentionaly terse.

CPCROM: common questions

How big is the CPCROM PCB?

The CPCROM measures 99.1 × 66 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the CPCROM?

31 components, from 15 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the CPCROM design files?

From the Bread80/CPCModular repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the CPCROM design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license, which Bread80 chose for the repository.
