About the Power input PCB

Power input is an open source PCB design by carr-james, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board, with 5 components from 3 distinct parts.

By type, the board carries 2 diodes, 2 capacitors and 1 connector.

It belongs with the audio designs in this gallery.

From the project

Reusable Eurorack circuit blocks (KiCad 10 design blocks) and house design rules

Eurorack power entry with reverse polarity protection and rail bulk decoupling.

The block connects a Eurorack bus cable to the module. It passes +12V and -12V through a series Schottky diode each, and holds each rail with a bulk capacitor. It does not regulate, filter, or provide +5V.

The block uses global power symbols. A parent sheet needs no sheet pins.

+12VIN and -12VIN are local labels. They stay inside this sheet.

Power input: common questions

How big is the Power input PCB?

The Power input has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Power input?

5 components, from 3 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Power input design files?

From the carr-james/eurorack-blocks repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Power input design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with carr-james. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
