About the Bus enable PCB

Bus enable is an open source PCB design by carr-james, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board, with 4 components from 2 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the 4066. By type, the board carries 2 ICs and 2 capacitors.

It belongs with the audio designs in this gallery.

From the project

Reusable Eurorack circuit blocks (KiCad 10 design blocks) and house design rules

Connects up to four signals to shared buses, and disconnects them all when the module is not the active one.

Four analogue switches, one common control. When EN is high all four channels pass. When EN is low all four are open and the module is invisible to the buses.

This is what makes a chained module safe. step-counter gives an EN signal ready made: its HELD output is high on exactly one module in a chain.
