Fretboard-style MIDI Controller for Guitarists

Fretboard-style MIDI Controller for Guitarists

Emiuet is a fretboard-shaped MIDI controller designed specifically for guitarists.

Instead of adapting piano-style abstractions, Emiuet is built around strings, positions, voicings, and controlled expressive gestures. It is part of Emnyeca’s Utility Build Series (EUB) and represents a focused, intentionally constrained musical instrument.

EUB-04 Emiuet: common questions

What microcontroller does the EUB-04 Emiuet use?

The EUB-04 Emiuet is built around the ESP32-S3-MINI-1, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the EUB-04 Emiuet PCB?

The EUB-04 Emiuet measures 297 × 102.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the EUB-04 Emiuet?

251 components, from 54 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the EUB-04 Emiuet design files?

From the emnyeca/emiuet repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the EUB-04 Emiuet design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with emnyeca. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the EUB-04 Emiuet without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
