About the Panic button tiny PCB
Panic button tiny is an open source ESP32 PCB design by HenraL, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 38.2 × 38.3 mm, with 16 components from 14 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ESP32-C3, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the SIM7670G-LNGV, LIS2DE12, ME6211C33M5, TPS61022 and TP4056-42-ESOP8. By type, the board carries 7 ICs, 2 connectors, 2 capacitors, 2 resistors, 1 crystal and 1 battery holder.
It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.
From the project
This is an attempt at creating a box that aims to allow you to broacast your location to someone close like the other deivces (air tag, tile, etc) but as it is not a brand and uses the internet instead of ble and an proprietary device grid (airtag) it should not be very obvious.
A small panic beacon (target: no bigger than a finger; a palm if that size can't be reached) that:
1. Updates its position towards a server. 2. If that is not available, sends an SMS (or similar). 3. Regardless of the above, advertises a BLE beacon (Apple Find My-style, Android hub, Samsung if they stray) so nearby phones can interact with it without any app.

Panic button tiny: common questions
What microcontroller does the Panic button tiny use?
The Panic button tiny is built around the ESP32-C3, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the Panic button tiny PCB?
The Panic button tiny measures 38.2 × 38.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Panic button tiny?
16 components, from 14 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Panic button tiny design files?
From the HenraL/panic_button repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Panic button tiny design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which HenraL chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the Panic button tiny without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
