About the HX6-Miner PCB

HX6-Miner is an open source ESP32 PCB design by IsSasoriDev, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 6-layer board measuring 170 × 115 mm, with 258 components from 62 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N16R8, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the TPS54302DDCR, TLV75801PDBVR, TPS53647RTAR, CSD95490Q5MC and Bitmain BM1370. By type, the board carries 154 capacitors, 61 resistors, 22 ICs, 6 connectors, 6 inductors and 4 diodes.

It belongs with the iot & wireless and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

6× BM1370 Bitcoin miner, about 6.5 TH/s at around 105 W off 12 V, with a TPS53647 4-phase VRM, ESP32-S3 over WiFi and a 2.8" touchscreen.

A 6 chip BM1370 Bitcoin miner board with a touchscreen, made in KiCad.

Six BM1370s (the chip from the Antminer S21 Pro) sit under one normal desktop CPU cooler, powered by a 4 phase VRM off 12 V. An ESP32-S3 runs it over WiFi and drives a 2.8" touch display.

Rev B. Fully routed, DRC clean in KiCad 7, Gerbers ready for JLCPCB.

Not built or tested yet. Treat it as a first prototype. If you build one, open an issue and tell me how it went.

HX6-Miner: common questions

What microcontroller does the HX6-Miner use?

The HX6-Miner is built around the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N16R8, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the HX6-Miner PCB?

The HX6-Miner measures 170 × 115 mm, has 6 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the HX6-Miner?

258 components, from 62 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the HX6-Miner design files?

From the IsSasoriDev/HX6-Miner repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the HX6-Miner design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which IsSasoriDev chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the HX6-Miner without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
