Its main chip is the ESP32-C3-WROOM-02, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the MC33063AD, BME280, TESEO-LIV3R, CP2102N-A02-GQFN28 and Si1146. By type, the board carries 23 resistors, 20 capacitors, 10 diodes, 8 ICs, 4 connectors and 4 inductors.

It belongs with the displays & leds and sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

PCB design and firmware of a weather station empowered with an ESP32-C3.

This is a design for a weather station device that provides multiple essential metrics for real-world weather scenarios. This device can be used in various settings, including homes, farms, and offices, allowing users to gain insight into the weather without leaving the comfort of their own place. Additionally, the device provides a simple web dashboard accessible locally to display the sensors' readings on the user's computer or phone, as well as a small OLED display on the device for easy local monitoring.

Weather station project: common questions

What microcontroller does the Weather station project use?

The Weather station project is built around the ESP32-C3-WROOM-02, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Weather station project PCB?

The Weather station project measures 95 × 75 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Weather station project?

78 components, from 50 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Weather station project design files?

From the laith73/weather-station-project repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Weather station project design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which laith73 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Weather station project without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
