About the R2-Backplane PCB

R2-Backplane is an open source PCB design by Manuvr, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 24.8 × 67.1 mm, with 41 components from 27 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the LSF0204x, LTC2942-1, BQ24155, SC283 and EMIF02-USB03F2. By type, the board carries 12 capacitors, 8 ICs, 5 connectors, 3 inductors, 3 resistors and 1 fuse.

It belongs with the power & battery and sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

KiCAD source files for Manuvr's motion capture glove.

This is a backplane PCB for Digitabulum containing the power-management block and associated support circuits.

This PCB, combined with a Compute board, and a Digitabulum-r2 board (plus sensors) forms a complete electronics package for a single motion-capture glove.

The power-management block of this backplane is broken out in the PowerPlant-Module.

The CPLD GPIO pin has been routed to the 2v5/3v3 selection signal.

R2-Backplane: common questions

How big is the R2-Backplane PCB?

The R2-Backplane measures 24.8 × 67.1 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the R2-Backplane?

41 components, from 27 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the R2-Backplane design files?

From the Manuvr/Digitabulum-Hardware repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the R2-Backplane design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Manuvr. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
