About the Domonode2 PCB

Domonode2 is an open source ESP8266 PCB design by NdK73, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 95 × 139.6 mm, with 103 components from 28 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP-12, from the ESP8266 family. Other key parts include the HLK-PM01, TLP620, AP111733, MCP23017_SO and 24LC02. By type, the board carries 42 resistors, 16 capacitors, 11 ICs, 9 connectors, 8 diodes and 6 transistors.

From the project

DomoNode, DomoNode-inout, DomoDisp, etc.

Evolution of DomoNode, but offers 6 inputs @ 230V, 6 SSR 2A@230V (each one have its own independent in and out lines, for maximum flexibility) and 8 independent LEDs, still in a 6-modules DIN rail enclosure. Kept SW compatibility with basic DomoNode (just the first 4 outputs), but different external connections.

Domonode2: common questions

What microcontroller does the Domonode2 use?

The Domonode2 is built around the ESP-12, from the ESP8266 family.

How big is the Domonode2 PCB?

The Domonode2 measures 95 × 139.6 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Domonode2?

103 components, from 28 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Domonode2 design files?

From the NdK73/HomeAutomation repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Domonode2 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which NdK73 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Domonode2 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP8266 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
