About the Pmw3610 PCB

Pmw3610 is an open source PCB design by sadekbaroudi, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 25.9 × 41.3 mm, with 18 components from 10 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the TCR2EF19 and PMW3610. By type, the board carries 9 capacitors, 3 connectors, 3 resistors, 2 ICs and 1 jumper.

From the project

This is a VIK module to use a PMW3610 motion sensor. This sensor is primarily used for mousing applications.

This is a VIK module to use a PMW3610 motion sensor. This sensor is primarily used for mousing applications.

The most common use in the keyboard community is for trackballs.

Note that while I2C, RGB, and extra GPIO are broken out, but are not used in the circuitry, so they are not needed for the sensor. There are also footprints for I2C pull up resistors, which are also not needed, as I2C is not used.

Pmw3610: common questions

How big is the Pmw3610 PCB?

The Pmw3610 measures 25.9 × 41.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Pmw3610?

18 components, from 10 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Pmw3610 design files?

From the sadekbaroudi/vik repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Pmw3610 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license, which sadekbaroudi chose for the repository.
