About the Urine analyzer lite PCB

Urine analyzer lite is an open source ESP32 PCB design by Sid93, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board, with 31 components from 30 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the TCA9548APWR, SHT31-DIS, ADS1115IDGS, HX711 and TP4056. By type, the board carries 10 connectors, 6 ICs, 5 resistors, 3 switches, 2 diodes and 2 capacitors.

It belongs with the sensors and power & battery designs in this gallery.

From the project

Compact automated urine dipstick analyzer — ESP32-S3, dual TCS34725 RGB sensors, N20 motor, thermal printer | Levram Lifesciences

The Urine Analyzer Lite reads standard 10-pad reagent dipsticks using dual TCS34725 RGB color sensors and classifies results for 10 analytes. A compact N20 gear motor steps the strip under the optical head at controlled speed. Results print via an integrated CSN-A2 thermal printer.

All 3D-printable parts are exported from one file. Render individual modules:

1. Insert dipstick tray with strip face-up 2. Place sample cup on weight sensor (minimum 1 g detected) 3. Press scan button 4. Device homes, steps across all 10 pads, classifies, prints report 5. UV-C sterilization cycle runs…

Urine analyzer lite: common questions

What microcontroller does the Urine analyzer lite use?

The Urine analyzer lite is built around the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Urine analyzer lite PCB?

The Urine analyzer lite has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Urine analyzer lite?

31 components, from 30 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Urine analyzer lite design files?

From the Sid93/urine-analyzer-lite repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Urine analyzer lite design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Sid93. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Urine analyzer lite without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
