About the OSCD Demo PCB
OSCD Demo is an open source ESP32 PCB design by tmjnijssen, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 94.6 × 94.6 mm, with 76 components from 24 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ESP32-C3-MINI-1, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the USBLC6-2SC6, LSM6DS3, HT7533-1-SOT89, APDS-9306-065 and MPR121QR2. By type, the board carries 31 resistors, 16 capacitors, 15 diodes, 6 ICs, 5 switches and 3 connectors.
It belongs with the iot & wireless, sensors and wearables designs in this gallery.
From the project
Open Science Community Delft demonstration PCB
A demonstration / teaching PCB built by the Open Science Community Delft to show what an open hardware project looks like in practice: full sources, an open licence, and everything needed to have the board made and reprogrammed by anyone.
It is a round, ~93 mm ESP32-C3 board shaped like the OSCD logo, with a ring of 12 addressable RGB LEDs, three sensors on a shared I²C bus, capacitive touch pads, and three push buttons. Plug it into USB-C, and the demo firmware lights the ring in response to tilt, touch, ambient light, and button presses.

OSCD Demo: common questions
What microcontroller does the OSCD Demo use?
The OSCD Demo is built around the ESP32-C3-MINI-1, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the OSCD Demo PCB?
The OSCD Demo measures 94.6 × 94.6 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the OSCD Demo?
76 components, from 24 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the OSCD Demo design files?
From the tmjnijssen/OSCD_demo_PCB repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the OSCD Demo design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license, which tmjnijssen chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the OSCD Demo without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
