About the FourThirdsEye PCB

FourThirdsEye is an open source PCB design by will127534, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 47 × 47 mm, with 106 components from 30 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the AP3418KTR-G1, IMX294, LP5907MFX-1.8, TPS7A9001DSKR and ECS-2520MV-240-DN. By type, the board carries 75 capacitors, 9 resistors, 8 ICs, 4 connectors, 4 inductors and 1 jumper.

It belongs with the sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

Open source Raspberry Pi 5 compatible Micro Four Thirds camera module based on IMX294

FourThirdsEye captures 10.7 Mpix images and 4K (4096 x 2160) videos with improved low-light performance and dynamic range (4.63 um pixel size). It's perfect for photography enthusiasts, developers, and makers who want to level up their Raspberry Pi projects with a powerful camera.

As for the PCB board design, the goal is to make a miniaturized camera board, but because of that I have to use smaller via sizes (0.2mm) and via-in-pad for the decoupling capacitors. There is also a bunch of tiny common mode CSI-2 filter that it might be hard for hand soldering so PCBA services or stencil + paste…
