This board is confirmed to function standalone. It also is designed (but currently untested) to function connected to a bottom board, for instance, the BTM-PALMTOP.

This board works from a 5V/1.5A or 5V/3A input. If you want to get USB host mode out of the, you can use many of the generic "USB-C with data output and charger input" docks; connect the charger first, then plug the USB-C into the board.

Top board pizero: common questions

What microcontroller does the Top board pizero use?

The Top board pizero is built around the ESP32-C6-WROOM-1, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Top board pizero?

The Top board pizero measures 111 × 80 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Top board pizero?

249 components, from 59 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Top board pizero design files?

From the ZeroPhone/Snowdive-PCB repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Top board pizero design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which ZeroPhone chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Top board pizero without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
