One current sensor per phase. 5V supply, 2.5V at zero current anlog output.

Isolated gate power supplies provided from a common 30VDC primary supply , a pair of 5V at 132KHz and 42% duty signals to a mosfet driver. Transformers are Epcos A213721495C.

HV Voltage sensing is achived using the external ADC channel of the Low3 gate driver and transmitted via spi.

MG ZS V2: common questions

What microcontroller does the MG ZS V2 use?

The MG ZS V2 is built around the SN65HVD230, from the ESP8266 family.

How big is the MG ZS V2 PCB?

The MG ZS V2 measures 180 × 120 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the MG ZS V2?

161 components, from 111 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the MG ZS V2 design files?

From the damienmaguire/MG-EV-Inverter repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the MG ZS V2 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which damienmaguire chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the MG ZS V2 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP8266 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
