PCB design for SPI adapters (HATs)
In this repository we will keep PCB designs done in KiCAD for SPI adapters we use. This PCB hardware work uses the CERN Open Hardware Licence Version 2 in the weakly reciprocal version. Be aware that this is experimental work mostly done for research and mass-producing this PCB's is not permitted without our written consent. Fabricating and selling hardware also implies that you need to provide support / fixes and maintain your code examples up to date.

154-watch: common questions
What microcontroller does the 154-watch use?
The 154-watch is built around the ESP32-C3-MINI-1-N4, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the 154-watch PCB?
The 154-watch measures 50.3 × 33 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.51 mm thick.
How many components are on the 154-watch?
60 components, from 42 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the 154-watch design files?
From the martinberlin/H-spi-adapters repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the 154-watch design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license, which martinberlin chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the 154-watch without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
