Its main chip is the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the TPD4E1U06DBVR, AP3012, AP2112K-3.3, DW01A and MCP73832-2-OT. By type, the board carries 43 resistors, 25 capacitors, 11 switches, 9 transistors, 7 ICs and 6 connectors.

It belongs with the robotics & motion and dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

From the project

This repository contains a suite of sample KiCad circuits used as benchmarks for Pinscope.

This repository contains a suite of sample KiCad circuits used as benchmarks for Pinscope.

The suite is designed to test, validate, and evaluate Pinscope's capabilities in circuit analysis, fault coverage, and netlist validation.

The repository represents four distinct projects. For each project, there are two versions: 1. Original Version: The clean, reference KiCad design, located under Original-schematics/. 2. Fault-Injected Version: A modified version of the reference circuit with simulated hardware, netlist, or schematic faults, in a top-level folder prefixed with x-.

The KiCad project lives in the Monacrylic/Pinscope-benchmark-circuits repository on GitHub; these links point at the commit this page was built from.

MinRead: common questions

What microcontroller does the MinRead use?

The MinRead is built around the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the MinRead PCB?

The MinRead measures 64.5 × 120.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the MinRead?

114 components, from 43 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the MinRead design files?

From the Monacrylic/Pinscope-benchmark-circuits repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the MinRead design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Monacrylic. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the MinRead without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
