Status: ENGINEERING / NOT FOR FABRICATION

The canonical board is generated from the native schematic and its exact pad-to-net data; it is not a hand-written zero-item placeholder.

generateboard.py creates the four-layer, 1.0 mm, nominal Ø52 mm board with the four V3 R2.70 screw scallops centred on R27.70 / PCD55.40. It places WROOM-1U left, LC76G/RF right, IIS2MDC at 12 o'clock, QMI8658A near centre, and USB/power/display FPC at 6 o'clock. Seventeen test pads are on the back service ring. The placement report is written to build/placement-report.txt`.

Moto gps rev a1: common questions

What microcontroller does the Moto gps rev a1 use?

The Moto gps rev a1 is built around the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1U-N16R8, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Moto gps rev a1 PCB?

The Moto gps rev a1 measures 52 × 52 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1 mm thick.

How many components are on the Moto gps rev a1?

95 components, from 58 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Moto gps rev a1 design files?

From the mx3353672833-debug/moto-gps-waveshare repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Moto gps rev a1 design in my own project?

It is published under Custom license, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.

Can I test firmware for the Moto gps rev a1 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
