About the Esp32Tap - ESP32-S3 Precor serial bus tap PCB

Esp32Tap - ESP32-S3 Precor serial bus tap is an open source ESP32 PCB design by scottmsilver, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 95 × 58 mm, with 76 components from 43 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the C52801, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N8, TPS54202DDCR, USBLC6-2SC6, TPS3700DDCR and TPS70950DBVR. By type, the board carries 32 resistors, 19 capacitors, 7 ICs, 6 diodes, 3 connectors and 2 transistors.

From the project

Controlling my procor-9.3x treadmill

Status: HOLD. Do not submit fabrication, authorize substitutions, pay, or connect an Emulate-capable build to a treadmill until the applicable vendor, firmware, harness, and bench gates are closed.

Esp32Tap sits inline between the console and motor-controller serial cables of a Precor 9.31. In Proxy mode a normally closed relay preserves the passive console path. Emulate mode transfers that path to a hardware-gated ESP32-S3 transmitter. The treadmill safety key remains authoritative; this board is not a certified functional-safety controller.
