About the 68k-SMT PCB

68k-SMT is an open source PCB design by transistorfet, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 106.7 × 139.7 mm, with 64 components from 38 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the 74HC32, MC68010, 74HC14, 74HC05 and 74HC20. By type, the board carries 16 capacitors, 14 resistors, 12 ICs, 6 connectors, 6 jumpers and 5 diodes.

It belongs with the retro computing designs in this gallery.

From the project

A collection of 68k computer projects, including a unix-like operating system written in C that runs on them

The goal here was to learn surface mount soldering techniques so that I could attempt a 68030 based design. I had lots of $10 QFP package 68030s, but the PGA packages were about 4 times the price, plus about $10 CAD including shipping and duties for a PGA socket (which is this 128-pin 13x13 PGA socket
