About the CheetoPet PCB

CheetoPet is an open source ESP32 PCB design by Cheet0sDelet0s, published on GitHub under the GPL-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 50.2 × 95.2 mm, with 96 components from 40 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-S3-MINI-1U, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the USBLC6-2SC6, HX PM2.54-1x5P WT, DW01A, BQ24074RGT and MAX17048G_T10. By type, the board carries 37 resistors, 30 capacitors, 14 ICs, 5 switches, 2 transistors and 2 connectors.

It belongs with the power & battery designs in this gallery.

From the project

an esp32 s3 based tamagotchi

you must buy the battery and display separately. a 1S 1000mah lipo/ion is what the board expects. the display is a very specific ST7789 from BuyDisplay, you can find it on aliexpress thank GOD. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008850313883.html they are about $5-6 each.

CheetoPet: common questions

What microcontroller does the CheetoPet use?

The CheetoPet is built around the ESP32-S3-MINI-1U, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the CheetoPet PCB?

The CheetoPet measures 50.2 × 95.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the CheetoPet?

96 components, from 40 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the CheetoPet design files?

From the Cheet0sDelet0s/cheetoPet repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the CheetoPet design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-2.0 license, which Cheet0sDelet0s chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the CheetoPet without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
